EGES Converters over 600 kW capacity can be directly connected to high voltage mains via an isolated HV transformer. As per customer request, less than 600 kW capacity converters can also be directly connected to high voltage mains via on isolated HV transformer. In this case there will be no need for second HV transformer.

Smaller than 450 kW converters are directly connected to 380V, It is not required to use primary transformer because the isolation between converter and furnace is obtained by secondary transformer.
